Mariya Shamshina is a bright soloist, winner of international music competitions. At the age of 9, she announced her talent by winning the Grand Prix at the 1st international music competition for children "Blue Bird," and toured with the Crimean Philharmonic Orchestra, performing a violin concerto by F. Mendelssohn. Mariya is a true representative of the violin mastery traditions of D. Oistrakh, Y. Heifetz, I. Menuhin, and H. Szeryng schools. She studied in ZHDK in Zurich and Lausanne and constantly improves her performance skills under the guidance of such maestros as Z. Bron, Ivry Gitlis, Leonidas Kavakos, Sergio Schwarz, Pavel Vernikov, and Pierre Amoyal. Since 2009, Maria has been mentored by the renowned violinist, professor, and expert Eduard Wulfson. She has participated in such projects as "Stradivari Ensemble," "Camérata de Lausanne," in contemporary music projects "Open Air Zurich" with Kygo, played with Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, toured with symphony orchestras across Europe and Asia. Mariya Shamshina plays very rare Sanctus Seraphin’s violin (1735).
